Church Membership
Believing and Belonging
From the very start of the Christian story, faith has always been something people live out together. The first followers of Jesus didn’t just believe privately—they joined a community that learned, prayed, shared meals, and supported one another (Acts 2:41–42). Being a Christian has never been a solo journey; it’s about becoming part of what God is doing in the world through His people, the Church.
God has always worked through a community. In the Bible, He called people like Abraham and Sarah to follow Him, and through them built a people who would show His love and goodness to the world. Today, that same purpose continues through the Church—a community of people from all walks of life, united by their faith in Jesus and their desire to live out His love in everyday life.
Church membership is simply a way of saying, “This is my spiritual home.” It’s about belonging as well as believing—joining a local church family where we can grow in faith, serve others, and share life together. It’s a commitment, but a joyful one: a way to say yes to community, to learning, and to God’s mission in the world.
Becoming a member doesn’t mean you have everything figured out. It means you want to keep growing, to be supported and to support others, and to take part in what God is doing through the church. In a world that often values independence, church membership is a reminder that we’re better together—that faith is something we live and learn in community.
