Whether you are just looking into Christianity for the first time, or have been a Christian for many years, we hope you will be encouraged and inspired by your visit. Come as you are
We are an informal church and accept everyone as they are. There is no need to dress, or try be someone that you're not! Whether you come in a suit or jeans, that’s fine with us. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We aren't super-spiritual beings – we’re a friendly crowd of ordinary people from all walks of life.
What to expect
The service begins at 10:30 a.m. Here’s a glimpse of a normal Sunday morning:
Welcome Team: They will greet you at the door and are there to help you.
Children's Activities: Our services are child-friendly, and we have some simple activities to keep your toddler occupied during the service. Don't panic if they make a noise. After the time of worship which any children and young people go to their own activity (visitors' children are welcome too!). After a time of worship, children and teens can go to their own activities. (Visitors’ children are welcome as well!) On the first Sunday of every month we have an all-age service where the children stay in with the rest of the church family.
Offering: An offering box is available to the rear of the church, but there is no pressure to contribute.
Sermon: We then do a Bible-reading followed by a talk which applies the reading to our modern lives in a relevant and meaningful way.
Prayer: We have prayer time for particular situations in our church, community, country, or the world.
Refreshments: Stick around after the service for some time together with tea and coffee.
Prayer
At the end of the service some people want personal prayer. If you want someone to pray or talk with you privately about what you have heard or experienced in the service, or a situation you are facing, go and sit on the front row and someone will come and pray with you.
Communion
Once a month we celebrate communion during the morning service. This is when we share bread and wine to remember that Jesus died on the cross to pay the price for our sins. Usually brought to you in your seat, the bread is eaten as it is served to us and the non-alcoholic wine is taken all together as a sign of fellowship. We invite all those who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour to share in communion with us. This means that if you are not yet a Christian, please gently decline the bread and wine when offered.
Accessibility
We aim to be an all-inclusive church. There is wheelchair access and reserved parking near the door on the right-hand side of the church. There is also an accessible toilet in the Hall. For those hard of hearing, we have an induction loop, and for those with visual difficulties, large print publications are available on request.
